Philip Curtis
Opened in April 2001, The Ullman Center for the Art of Philip C. Curtis provides a unique opportunity to focus on the art and life of a superb painter. The works on view are drawn from the Museum’s extensive collection and cover more than fifty years of the artist’s career. Included is a cabinet of personal memorabilia from the artist’s studio, and an interactive “touch screen” computer that allows users to view video clips, manipulate Curtis’s paintings, and find out more about the artist’s life. A selection by others who shared an affinity with Curtis’s style of surrealist and abstract imagery is also on display. We encourage visitors to explore and enjoy the legacy of this intriguing and important Arizona artist in a beautiful setting.
