Every year, the Museum's 11 volunteer organizations raise funds to support various aspects of the Museum and its operations, hosting road rallies to gala parties.

Ruby Boot Bash

The Western Art Associates invite you to a festive evening and to help select a work of art to join the Museum’s collection! On Friday, April 11, 2008, the Western Art Associates celebrate their 40th anniversary with the first annual Collector’s Choice Gala – Ruby Boot Bash. Enjoy food, drink, live music and of course, exceptional Western art. All who purchase tickets to attend will have the opportunity to vote in adding a new work to the Museum’s collection, with the winner being announced that evening!

Admission is $95, dress is casual, and the fun kicks off at 6:30 pm.

VinArte, The Art of Wine Tasting & Sale

Friday, April 25, 6:30pm

VinArte, the Art of Wine, marks its 13thh Anniversary as the premier wine fundraiser in the Southwest. Presented jointly by Men’s Arts Council and Women’s Metropolitan Arts Council, this unique wine event benefits the Museum’s PhxArtKids Gallery for children and families.

The Wine Tasting & Sale will be held outdoors, under the stars in the Museum’s sculpture garden on Friday, April 25, 6:30pm. Enjoy sampling over 50 wines from around the world while you please your palette with an assortment of fine culinary treats created by Arcadia Farms, and enjoy the ambiance of the Museum’s courtyard. Tickets are $75.

Copperstate 1000 Vintage Car Road Rally

Phoenix Art Museum’s most unique fundraiser, the 18th Annual Bell Lexus Copperstate 1000 Vintage Car Road Rally rolls across Arizona from Sunday, April 6 thru Wednesday, April 9, 2008. The 80 rare and beautiful automobiles participating in the Bell Lexus Copperstate 1000 will meet at Tempe Diablo Stadium for a public viewing on Sunday, April 6, before heading off for their four-day, 1,000 mile journey through Arizona. Joining the Copperstate cars at 2nd Annual Tempe Diablo “Field of Dreams” will be more than 500 cars from local valley automobile clubs as well as a Historic Racecar Showcase featuring 30 racecars built between 1930 and 1975.

Don’t miss this opportunity to meet the car of your dreams! Gates open at 8am with the departure of the Copperstate cars from 10-11am. The Field of Dreams activities continue until 2pm. $10 for adults and children 12 and under free.

13th Annual VinArte Wine Dinner & Auction Gala

Presented jointly by Men’s Arts Council and Women’s Metropolitan Arts Council, this unique wine event benefits the Museum’s PhxArtsKids Gallery for children and families.
This extraordinary event features fine wine paired with a gourmet multi-course dinner by Michael’s at the Citadel. The highlight of the evening is the live auction that includes library selections, rare vintages, original works of art, wine country vacations and private wine dinners. Tickets are $375. Tables of ten start at $3,000.

Murals Under The Stars: Diego Rivera, His Life and Work

Mexico’s undisputed giant of 20th century art, also Frida Kahlo’s bad boy husband, created incredibly forceful and politically-oriented murals and art admired the world over.

Phoenix Art Museum’s advocate group, Latin American Art Alliance (LAAA), is pleased to present a spectacular evening of Rivera’s rarely seen work  through a multi-media presentation and lecture to be given by world renowned art expert Gregorio Luke, former director of Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, CA

The presentation will be held out doors in the Dorrance Sculpture Garden with special screens and the latest digital equipment, giving guests the sensation of being in front of the original murals.

Immediately following the “Murals Under the Stars” there will be a Latino Jazz Trio on the terrace with desserts, brandies, coffees and Latin American beers and wines.
