A Tradition Redefined Members Day
Saturday, July 12, 2008, 10am – 5pm
Light refreshments and origami
Great Hall, 10am – 2pm
Relax and enjoy light refreshments provided by China Mist. Practice the art of paper folding by creating origami animals!
Lecture: A Tradition Redefined
Whiteman Hall, 11am
Claudia Brown, Ph.D., research curator for Asian art and professor of art history at Arizona State University, gives an overview of the special exhibition.
Docent-led tours
Steele Gallery, 11am – 3pm beginning every half hour
Docent tours of A Tradition Redefined. No reservations required, first come first served.
Chinese Calligraphy Demonstration
Chase Lobby, 12pm
Chinese Art Academy
Great Hall, 1pm
Students will perform traditional folk and modern dances from different Chinese nationalities.
Ink painting
Studios, 12pm – 2pm
Participate in the drop in ink painting activity for children and their adult companions. No experience necessary.
Evening Reception
and Private Viewing

Contributor, Supporter, Sponsor and Patron Members are invited to a private viewing of all four Asian Art exhibitions as well as Asian inspired hors d’oeuvres by Santa Barbara catering and live entertainment.
