Phoenix Art Museum announces 2026 pARTy in the Garden gala and afterpARTy

Annual fundraiser to celebrate major Florentine Baroque exhibition on April 10, 2026

PHOENIX (Jan. 5, 2026) — Phoenix Art Museum (PhxArt) has announced that its annual gala, The pARTy in the Garden, will take place from 6 to 9 pm on April 10, 2026, in the Museum’s Dorrance Sculpture Garden, immediately followed by The afterpARTy, a late-night celebration from 9 pm to midnight. Chaired by Catherine and Jim Tuton and Matthew Boland and Chris Greulich, the Valley’s leading arts fundraiser benefits the Museum’s exhibitions and education programs.

Each year, the event brings together more than 400 community leaders, philanthropists, and arts advocates in support of the Museum and arts in the region. Guests enjoy an exclusive viewing of a major exhibition, an elegant cocktail hour and seated dinner, and dessert and dancing at The afterpARTy.

This year’s pARTy in the Garden will also honor Mike and Lee Cohn, longtime supporters of Phoenix Art Museum, whose leadership and philanthropy have made a lasting impact on the institution. Mike Cohn is the founder and area president of Cohn Financial Group and has served on the Museum’s Board of Trustees. Together, the Cohns’ support includes the establishment of the Sette/Cohn Artist Award, a five-year initiative dedicated to supporting arts engagement and strengthening community partnerships through the Museum’s annual Arizona Artist Awards program. Lee Cohn is a respected entrepreneur and executive with decades of experience in restaurant, hospitality, and franchising leadership.

Guests will experience an exclusive viewing of Florentine Baroque: The Haukohl Collection, the first exhibition of its kind in Arizona. Featuring paintings and sculpture from the largest collection of Florentine Baroque art outside Italy, the exhibition explores the Italian city’s flourishing artistic tradition and highlights the cultural and intellectual legacy of the Medici Grand Dukes across the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

“The pARTy and The afterpARTy are among our most anticipated annual celebrations that provide vital support for the exhibitions and programs that make PhxArt a cultural anchor in our community,” said Jeremy Mikolajczak, the Museum’s Sybil Harrington Director and CEO. “This year’s gala celebrates a milestone moment in the Museum’s history, an exhibition that brings iconic artworks from across the centuries to our community. We look forward to welcoming guests for an evening that makes world-class exhibitions like Florentine Baroque possible, while strengthening our mission to inspire and engage audiences across the Valley.”

Immediately following The pARTy in the Garden, guests are invited to join The afterpARTy. The event features exclusive access to select exhibitions, along with custom craft cocktails at a hosted bar, live music and entertainment, dancing, delicious snacks and desserts, and more. The chic celebration draws young professionals, artists, and community creatives. Along with exhibitions and visual-arts education, proceeds from the event offer an infusion of support for the Museum’s extensive free-access days at the Museum. The Museum leads all cultural institutions in Arizona in offering an average of 30 hours per month of free-admission times, representing more than $1 million annually in free admission for visitors of all ages.

Tickets for The afterpARTy are $165 for the public or two tickets for $300, $125 for members of Phoenix Art Museum, and $100 for members of Arizona Costume Institute and Men’s Arts Council. Individual tickets for The pARTy begin at $1,500, with table sponsorships ranging from $15,000 to $50,000. Tickets and table opportunities can be reserved by contacting special.events@phxart.org. Additional details may be found at phxart.org/party-in-the-garden. The event is open to guests 21 years of age and older.
