WEEKLY/MONTHLY EVENTS

July Object of the Month
July 6, 18, 25 |  11:30 am

Each month, join us for a gallery talk led by a Museum Docent and learn more about an object from the collection or on view in a special exhibition.

Raymond Jonson’s Cañon de Chelly not only brings forth the artist’s experience of his adopted Southwest, but also his continual, progressive foray into abstract forms, his use of musical metaphors to compose his works, and his desire to use art to transcend the physical to the spiritual. In it we see evidence of Jonson’s belief that art could be “a rhythmic whole which moves and calls forth the spirit of each object used.” Join Docent Gail Paredes-Ewen as we explore the rhythm of the earth and discuss this artist’s influences and ideas about modern art.

Free for Members, included with General Admission.
