Stephanie Roman

Stephanie Roman (Roman) is a multidisciplinary visual artist, cultural organizer, and racial equity leadership consultant. As executive director at Celebración Artística de las Américas (CALA Alliance), she focuses on contemporary issues faced within the Latinx community through artist residencies, exhibitions, commissions, and performances. Roman aims to highlight local and national artistic talent inclusive of Indigenous, queer, and Black communities to connect our shared histories while exploring what nourishes cultural spirit leading to resistance and community building surrounding social concerns and inequities. Roman empowers emerging and mid-career art professionals to promote narrative change and fosters inclusive spaces for connection.  As a visual artist, her work merges photography, painting, and collage, influenced by her studies in interdisciplinary arts and performance.
