This fall, Phoenix Art Museum will present Gianfranco Ferré Designs, a unique companion installation to The White Shirt According to Me. Gianfranco Ferré, in the Museum’s Ellman Fashion Design Gallery. Featuring more than 80 sketches by Ferré, the drawings include both illustrative and technical examples of Ferré’s unique, vibrant style, along with the completed translations of Ferré’s initial conception to the three dimensional garment.
“This installation offers visitors a rare opportunity to truly explore a designer’s creative process, to understand the path a garment travels from imagination and conception to the technical elements, and finally the finished product,” explains Dennita Sewell, Curator of Fashion Design, who organized and curated this exhibition. “It’s a rare opportunity, especially for a designer of Ferré’s skill, artistry, and vision.”
