“To become a legend, it has to go beyond just running. This exhibit showcases cars with great stories, such as the Bugatti Queen Hellé Nice, who raced Bugattis in the 20s to 40s. She has an extraordinary story, and this car just happens to be owned in the U.S. Not only guys care about cars.”

Lyn St. James

“Each of these cars has a story to tell, and as an art exhibit, each stands as an expression of creativity, coming together as an art exhibit like no other.”

Legends of Speed is the first major exhibition of racing cars presented at Phoenix Art Museum. On view now through March 22, the exhibition features more than 20 legendary race cars by Maserati, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, Ford, and more, a landmark exhibition that showcases an unprecedented collection of cars driven by some of the greatest drivers in the history of racing, including A.J. Foyt, Dan Gurney, Hellé Nice, and Stirling Moss.

Featured cars have won many of the world’s most iconic races, including Le Mans, the Indianapolis 500, and the Italian Grand Prix, and were loaned to the Museum by internationally recognized collectors from Arizona and across the United States. Legends of Speed offers an unparalleled opportunity for Museum guests to experience and learn about some of the most successful and famous race cars of all time.
