In Spring 2023, Phoenix Art Museum embarked on the strategic-planning process. Over 12 months, a core Task Force with representatives from the Board of Trustees and executive and senior leadership, with the guidance of consulting firm Shan Strategies, envisioned the next five years in the Museum’s history as the institution approaches its 70th anniversary. The result is a roadmap for the future that will spark deepened engagement with new and existing audiences and align every Museum division in the common pursuit of excellence and an audience-centered approach.
Phoenix Art Museum has identified the following seven strategic priorities that will guide our path forward:
- Be a space of belonging.
- Practice thoughtful collection stewardship.
- Present impactful art experiences.
- Serve as a center for enrichment and community-focused engagement.
- Prioritize institutional capacity and agility.
- Serve as a model for good governance and management.
- Strengthen financial sustainability.
