Tips and Tricks

Our exhibitions and collections are presented for the enjoyment of visitors of all ages and abilities. We welcome every guest in every gallery, every day.

To make the most of your experience, we encourage you to review these tips and tricks to help ensure your visit is safe and enjoyable for all of our guests.

Guidelines and Amenities

  • Children aged 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult companion at all times.
  • Family / All-Gender restrooms are available in two locations in the Museum: on the first floor of the Katz Wing for Modern Art and on the first floor of the Education Center, a separate building accessible from the Dorrance Sculpture Garden.
  • Strollers and child carriers worn on the front of one’s body are permitted.
  • Museum galleries are considered “dry zones,” with no food or drink permitted in those spaces, with exceptions for baby bottles and spill-proof “sippy” cups for children.
  • Breastfeeding is permitted in all spaces. There are presently no dedicated spaces for feeding in the Museum. Ask a gallery attendant for recommendations of Museum spaces that may offer more privacy.
  • All other Museum guidelines and policies must be followed. Click here for a full list of Museum policies.
  • We provide an activity guide for those visiting with children. Click here to download your complimentary Kids Activity Guide.
  • Click to discover a range of things to see and do.
  • We provide resources and support for those who wish to visit on school field trips. Click here to learn more about school tours.
